Cruise Lines International Association Privacy Policy

Introduction

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy (together with our CLIA UK Membership Terms and Conditions) will inform you as to how we look after your personal data and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

Our privacy commitment to you

We will only use your personal data for the purposes of administrating your Membership, providing our products and services (Services) to you, to improve the Services we offer, and to provide you with our latest news and updates. We will never share your personal details with other companies for marketing purposes unless you’ve given us explicit permission.

Who we are

Cruise Lines International Association is made up of different legal entities based in North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia, details of which can be found here

This privacy policy is issued on behalf of the CLIA Group so when we mention CLIAweus or our in this privacy policy, we are referring to the relevant company in the CLIA Group responsible for processing your data (i.e. the controller, for the purposes of European data protection law). We will let you know which entity will be the controller for your data when you register to become a Member or otherwise interact with us.

Cruise Lines International Association is the controller and responsible for this website.

We will comply with all data protection and privacy laws which are applicable in the country in which we collect your personal data.

Our companies which are based in the European Union (EU), or which offer goods or services to, or monitor the behaviour of, data subjects in the EU, will at all times comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Why we collect and store your personal information

Why we need your personal details

When you register to become a Member, create a personal profile on our website, request and/or purchase the Services, request information in relation to, or sign up to attend, an event, activity or programme, or sign up to receive marketing communications, we will need to process your personal data in order to provide the information or Services requested and to ensure that we can be as helpful as possible.

Additionally, when you register your employees, directors and/or officers (Users) in connection with your Membership, we will need to ask for additional personal data in relation to those individuals. It is your obligation to ensure that you make such individuals aware of this Privacy Policy.

Tailoring your communications

We will ask you up-front if and how you’d like to receive marketing communications from us. If you want to change your marketing communications preferences, you can contact us via email at pplourd@cruising.org.  Every marketing email we send includes a link for you to unsubscribe at any time.

We may also use the information you have provided and information we collect about your use of our Services to tailor communications we send to you. We do this to ensure you always get a great service fully tailored to your preferences, but if you would prefer we do not use these kinds of profiling techniques you can opt-out by contacting us via email at pplourd@cruising.org. If you opt-out, you may find your communications from us become less relevant to your interests.

Keeping your data safe

We promise that we will do all we can to keep your personal data safe. We will store your personal data securely, encrypt it when we share it, and only hold it for as long as we need to.

When we have to share your details

So that we can meet our obligations to you and provide the information and/or Services that you have requested, we may share your personal data with any member of the CLIA Group or our suppliers as we need to. This may involve the transfer of your personal data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA).

In compliance with the GDPR, whenever we transfer your personal data out of the EEA, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it as would be the case within the EEA by ensuring that appropriate safeguards are in place.  If you require further information about this, please contact us via email at pplourd@cruising.org.

A list of third party processors will be available soon.

Request your data

You have the right to request that we confirm what data we hold on you, and how we use it, and to see the exact data we hold for you. For further details please see CLIA GDPR Privacy Policy long version.

"CLIA is the ultimate go-to for anything relating to the cruise sector" A must for anyone serious about selling cruise.

Working for a small independent agency, I would not have been able to gain the knowledge, or compete within the sector, without the support from the team at CLIA."
